Al is the current Lead instructor for Saber Team Tactical LLC where he teaches basic, intermediate and advanced firearms for self-defense. Prior to joining STT Al was a sworn member of the Prince George’s County Police Department, since 1997 Al has been a certified firearms instructor, he is certified to teach Revolver, Pistol, Shotgun and Semi-Automatic Rifles. In addition to being an NRA and FBI certified Firearms instructor, Al’s credentials include a laundry list of certifications as an instructor and armorer on many types of firearms.

During his 24+ years of service Al was able to gain experience and expertise from many opportunities as a patrol office, investigator and instructor. Through his training he was able to utilize his skills in real time during real interactions with hostile subjects. As a certified chemical munitions officer Al has properly deployed chemical munitions in many incidents, some of the actions in these incidents found their way to Federal court where the actions Al performed were upheld by the court. Al has testified numerous times as a subject matter expert on behalf of other officers and has consulted many legal proceedings about the use of force. Al was one of the first officers to be certified National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS800, which introduces the National Response Plan to local and State Emergency responders through training and live scenarios.

During his career Al was able to gain an expertise in firearms training through being certified with the FBI and NRA. Since 1997 Al has been a firearms instructor his specialty is working with new and marginal shooters. Over the decades he has been instrumental in training over 25,000 people, some have prevailed in critical incidents. The use of judgment enhancement training allowed officers to participate in live action scenarios under Al’s scrutiny, this was instrumental in fortifying proper response to critical incidents. Al continues to teach both sworn officers and civilians on the use of firearms and the use of force.
