Israel Dartiguenave

Born and raised in Haiti, Israel learned from an early age the profound importance of self-defense in an ever-changing world. Guided by a passion for personal safety and community well-being, he has cultivated an impressive repertoire of martial arts expertise, holding a black belt in Kyokushinkai Karate, a brown belt in Judo, and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In addition, he is a Krav Maga self-defense coach, a combatives and weapons instructor, and a Certified ALICE Active Shooter Instructor, credentials that speak volumes about his unwavering dedication to empowering others.

Israel’s commitment to education and service extended to his formal studies at Emory University, where he deepened his understanding of community engagement and leadership. Driven by a heartfelt desire to give back, he founded a youth development program in Haiti, using the transformative power of martial arts to instill discipline, confidence, and hope in the next generation. Beyond his work with young people, he generously offers free seminars at places of worship, helping congregations develop essential strategies for personal and communal safety.

With each endeavor, Israel remains steadfast in his mission to create safer, stronger communities—one empowered individual at a time. With ShieldEd, Israel believes that communities can be safer and lives can be saved, which is a priceless endeavor towards the pursuit of a better society.
